Dangerously Cold Temperatures Will Remain

Heavy snow, ice and brutal cold are expected to make this winter storm a potentially life-threatening weather event, stretching across two-thirds of the U.S.
A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for portions of northern and West Michigan through Tuesday evening as a Clipper system brings accumulating snow, gusty winds and dangerous wind chills across the state.
Deep snow — over a foot extending in a 1,300-mile swath from Arkansas to New England — halted traffic, canceled flights and triggered wide school cancellations Monday. Up to two feet were forecast in some of the harder-hit places.
That also means snowfall for some. Lake Erie is over 90% covered, but there's still a LOT of open water. That means lake effect snow is still possible. Want the latest Power of 5 weather team updates wherever you go? Download the News 5 App free now: Apple | Android
