Due to the passing of a cold front, we are starting this Wednesday off cold, but we are just going to get even colder. A secondary cold front is making its way south, and will drop our overnight temps into the teens! Overnight lows will continue to be cold, with lows in the teens continuing into next workweek.
The National Weather Service will continue to release updates throughout the week as a more certain forecast comes into focus.
While the Coastal Bend will most likely not see any snow, people can expect a strong cold front starting Jan. 25. The National Weather Service office in Corpus Christi said freezing temperatures are expected to continue through the following day, with wind chills falling into the teens.
Winds will veer out of the west-northwest after 6 p.m. and gust 20 to 30 mph during the late evening and overnight hours. This means wind-chills of 30° around 4 p.m. will quickly plummet into the mid-teens by midnight. Tuesday will be brutally cold all day with morning wake-up wind-chills around 0° to 5°.
Weak southeasterly winds will continue ahead of the front’s arrival, bringing light haze and vog to the entirety of the island chain.
