More than 5,000 customers in Jefferson Parish are without power Wednesday morning. According to Entergy's power outage map, 5,300 customers lost power around 9:30 a.m. in Old Metairie. The cause of the outage has not been identified at this time.

Power restored for most after more than 5,500 lost in Old Metairie

The outage is in Old Metairie, with 1,758 residents impacted. At one point 5,586 residents had no electricity. "We are aware of the outage in Old Metairie. Crews are working now to restore customers as quickly and safely as possible," an Entergy spokesperson said. According to the map, power is expected to be restored by noon.
