While both parties are jockeying for an edge in this year's battle for the House, some states are already setting their sights on the next election cycle.

Officials in about one-third of the states have considered revising their U.S. House districts since President Donald Trump called for mid-decade redistricting.

Florida Republicans’ decision to move forward with redistricting threatens to further sideline Democrats in a state that’s becoming increasingly red over the years. Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) announced last week that he’s calling a special session in April to redraw the Sunshine State’s congressional map,

DeSantis, days before the start of the Regular Session, called a Special Session on redistricting for April 20. That should allow time for the U.S. Supreme Court to reach a decision on Louisiana v. Callais, which could impact how racial demographics can be used to craft political boundaries.
