Whenever possible, a wild animal is always better off being parent reared, than by a human. So when a member of public reached out about a voles nest being disturbed while mowing the lawn, we advised them to glove up and carefully gather all the babies back to the nest site. Thankfully they were all uninjured so we asked that they monitor from a distance so that mum feels safe enough to return.. and sure enough she did! One by one she took her pups off, to continue her motherly duties elsewhere
