Animal shelters across Connecticut are reporting a rise in pet abandonment cases, with several incidents caught on surveillance cameras this week alone. New Haven’s Animal Shelter captured video Tuesday morning of someone throwing a cardboard box containing a cat over the facility’s fence before returning to their car. Assistant Animal Control Officer Tiyana Thompson discovered the taped box and found a cat inside, now named Stuart. Stuart is now warm and safe despite being abandoned in freezing
