Representatives from Burns & McDonnell and Union Station surprised the “Subterranean Secrets” team at Graden Elementary, led by Bridges teacher Jacy Chastain-Ware. The fifth graders designed a cave exhibit for Battle of the Brains (a K-12 STEM competition) and are in the Top 20! The team heads to Union Station on Feb. 4 for the awards ceremony and to find out if their exhibit concept will come to life inside Science City. Every holiday season, Nampa First Church of the Nazarene provides every student at Central Elementary Nampa with a wrapped shoebox filled with essential items and gifts. This year, that tradition came full circle. A seventh-grade student at Union High School, who once received one of those shoeboxes himself, wanted to give back.
